I SAID BOOOOOOOOOOOOW! LOL, so this is my first authorly post! This blog is gonna be made up mostly of these but there will be some posts like the one before that are just for my own enjoyment and anti-lonelyness. Okay then... PLZ READ THIS AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!
“What am I supposed to do? It seems like everything is caving in on me. I mean, this is all just too much. I can’t take it!” my screams echoed through the halls of Mason High School. “What did you think I was going to do? Just wait for you? You were gone for three years!”
“I… I didn’t…” he was speechless. Ha, that’s a first.
“You didn’t think… what… I would get over you? I’m not that pathetic, Callum.” At this point I was praising the fact that everyone was in the gym for that stupid dance.
“I know you’re not, but I was just hoping…”
God! How hard is it to actually finish a sentence?
“Look, I don’t care what you have to say. I’m completely happy being single! I’m never going to fall into your trap again so you can go ahead and skip the love speech.”
His hands were in his pockets. “I don’t deserve you.” He just walked past me and dropped a folded piece of paper at my ankles. After his footsteps could no longer be heard I picked up the paper and opened it. The creases were worn out, like it had been opened and closed multiple times. On it there were four numbers, 357 was on the top and three other numbers were below. Call me crazy, but it looked like a locker combination. I walked to locker number 357 then dialed in the numbers on the paper. As the door opened, at least ten unopened letters fell onto my shoes, all with my address written on the front of their envelopes in Callums writing.
I opened one of them.
Dearest Sadie,
I know I have not written to you in a long time but I want you to know that, no matter how far away I am, I will never stop thinking of you. I am begging my parents to let me return, but they aren’t agreeing with me. There is a slim chance that I’ll be able to visit for the spring dance but even if I can come I’ll have to leave that night. I just want you to remember that I love you. I know that I have told you this more than a million times but please believe me, every time I say it I mean it. I hope that you have been waiting for me, but if you have not, then best wishes to the lucky man. I hope that my shoes were hard to fill.
All My Love,
Callum
My heart sank. I had just yelled at the guy who had hand written all of these letters, but been too scared to send them.
“I didn’t want you to miss out on another relationship…” came a voice from the corner “… so I didn’t send them.”
“You wrote all of these.” It wasn’t really a question, more of a statement of awe.
“Yes, and I meant every word.” His eyes were those deep pools of green I used to know so well.
I subconsciously let a tear fall from my eye. I quickly tried to wipe it away, but Callum beat me to it. “I love you, Sadie. Please give me a second chance.”
I looked up from the linoleum, “One more chance.”
His hand wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer to him. I couldn’t help but cry as his other hand brushed my cheek with the lightest touch I’ve ever felt. His face slowly worked its way closer to mine then our foreheads touched. His breath blew warm on my nose and then not at all. He leaned in closer to take my mouth and my mind shorted out.
He pulled away after a while then began to run his hands through my hair, finally stopping once his hands were resting on the back of my neck.
I leaned forward to his ear then whispered, “I’ll wait for you.”
He lowered his hand into his pocket then pulled out a slim piece of card stock. Lifting it up in front of his face, he ripped it down the middle of the words ROUND TRIP. “You won’t have to.”
